Better Late Than Never...(2+ years later...feels like a dream...a long deep intense magnificent dream)
When we got home from Hong Kong it was time to turn right back around and book another set of plane tickets for more travels. I had this great idea to keep jumping and hopping from one destination to another and making progress of getting closer to home. We decided to add another popular destination in Vietnam, then Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Italy, Germany, France. Sounds amazing right??! The adrenaline rush was fantastic. We dreaded our return but with an itinerary like that it made it a bit more bearable. We met with friends and families on our last month together with them. We had many going away parties with food and karaoke and camping and going to restaurants we have loved the last 18 months and hugged and cried. I knew going back to the States would be hard, I didn't think it would be this hard. It was the most amazing 2 years of our lives.
We have loved Phuc Loc Vien (Fortune Villa) the last year of being in Vietnam. What a beautiful expat community. We met a few pilots from many parts of the world including a family from Holland (Joanna and Shermick Goscinska and their little one Filip who played with our boys so well), also Julia Nunes, and so many other that we became acquainted with.
We checked out of our villa and stayed at hotels...the beginning of many hotel stays
We visited our Korean LDS family and said goodbye to them
We played at the beach and enjoyed doing the art walk of the natives of Tam Thanh
We rented out a villa with a pool right outside of our room and swam and ate in house food made by the hotel people
I said goodbye to all the children I taught English and music to at Surya House Da Nang. It's incredible how much I came to love them.
Our friends Nguyet and Dzung took us camping and we showed them how to make s'mores
We crawled through tiny tunnels that were used by soldiers during the war and saw bats and bugs we haven't ever seen. That gave me nightmares!
We had exotic seafood that we haven't ever had! Scrumptious!!
The humidity did a number to his curls. They were so gorgeous!
We spent days in the countryside before we left
We miss it all!!! Even miss the strangers that pick up our babies and kiss them because they think they're cute.
