May I

 May, we continued with the good weather.  Reena started flute lesson because she got really good with the recorder and I don't like the high pitch sound of the recorder even though she was playing awesome songs like "amazing grace" or Katy Perry's "Fireworks".  I steered her towards a similar but warmer sound instrument.  She is loving flute lessons and is getting really good with it

 This is our Vietnamese neighbor that is becoming like my mom.  She is wonderful

 I took the kids to Chism beach on Lake Washington for some warm weather fun, in May!!!

 My pansies or violets looked so good in May.  They are suffering a bit now due to the lack of water.

 We did a lot of park days and enjoyed the natural Vitamin D

 We now have Drums in our house?!  It's loud.  I'm sorry neighbors

 My purple Rhododendrons came in beautifully this year.  I brought some to church a couple of times and some for Mother's day

 Mother's Day - I'm so grateful to have been a mother for 10 years.  No better calling in life that is as satisfying as being a mother.  I love my mother more and more each day that I'm with my children.  I respect my mother in law more and more each day as I raise my sons :)  My mother in law said Ronin is a mirror image of his father in personality

 Reena and Debrie made me a bouquet of wild flowers they picked for mother's day

 Lettuce came in nicely, even though they are deprived of water

 We did a lot of swimming with our friend Lorena at her pool

 And picnicking.   My daughter an I enjoying a little picnic while my other cute daughter is in gymnastics

 And chubby baby legs for snacks?  Yes plz!!

 I made some homemade mint salsa to give away to neighbors. Always a hit

 We got together with some people at the Methodist church and made dozens of cookies to give to firemen.  We brought the dough and baked it at the church.  We also got together with some friends at the church to make blankets for the homeless shelters

 Debrie's friend had a birthday party at the Repertoire Theater in Redmond.  They saw Fancy Nancy the Musical.  It was very cute and well done

  We decided it was time to fix up the yard a bit.  We did it in time for this cutie pie's birthday.  She lost a tooth the night before her birthday

April Part III

I have to close my eyes to what is behind me, look at the screen, to keep up.  There is always something to clean, something else that could distract.  Right now it is my goal to catch us up!
April felt like it was yesterday and somehow it's months away.  Summer is quickly approaching the end and school is about to start again in 3 weeks for us.  Let's get back to April.  I like that better!

 April was unusually warm with weather in the high 80's, a couple of times in the 90's.  The day we came back from Idaho where we had recently put on jackets, we were back in shorts.  Our garden took off with strawberries ripening all over the places.  The peaches were coming in nicely

 We allowed the kids to have 2 gold fish that Debrie brought home from a school's science experiment, which turned into 6 fish because naughty little brother kept putting things like bubble juice inside the tank and killing them off.  One time Debrie changed the tank's water and filled it up with hot/warm water.  Finally we are on the 3rd set of golfish and these are still alive as of August.  They've lasted 3 months now so we are hopeful.

 Mother daughter date - My girls are old enough now that they request mother daughter dates.  Just a few more years and we could look like siblings.  I remember that stage with my mother

 We painted the Seattle view at night with other artists

 Jeff, Dan's brother pointed out that the APRON they had me wear is a bit risque.  I HAD NO IDEA!!! HAHAHAHA:) :)

 Can I just say he is so yummy with all of his arms rolls???!!!!

 Our ward had a scouts camp fundraiser 5k race.  I did the race and the family came at the end to cheer (or more like to play at the park).  Not really much of a race since 5k is about what I run at the gym but still at fun activity.

 Remember I mentioned 90 degrees weather?  So a lemonade stand was a hit!  I made cookies, we had mints to give away and the girls made $18 in lemonade with their friends

 We had my brother in law's sister and her boyfriend over for a bbq.  She had just recently moved up to the area so we thought we'd give her a warm welcome

 After dinner we took them to Snoqualmie Falls.  BTW here is a comparison of the Fall in the rainy winter months vs. the dryer summer/early Fall months

 We did the 1 mile hike down to see a gorgeous view at night

 And that's all for April!  Phew!!!
