August 23rd The Anniversary Special

For our anniversary this year we decided to go parasailing. It was the bomb! Parasailing rocks! We were about 300 ft in the air. It was a beautiful day. WE LOVED IT!!!! We're definitely going back.

Our boat!
I am convinced Seattle is the prettiest place we've ever lived in
Flowers, ice cream, and shopping at Pike Place as an anniversary treat.

Ensign Ranch Camping
The San Juan Islands

The Snug Harbor Campsite. We roasted marshmallow, had sausages and some campfire dinner. We woke up to this beautiful sight!
WOW. Is all I could say about the food. Simply delectable. Salmon for breakfast is my dream.
Pouche eggs with the hollandaise sauce. Salmon, and advocado. This in itself is worth going back to Orcas Island.
When my parents were visiting last winter, we took them to the beach and they showed us that if you lift the rocks around the beach, you'll find crabs! Yes indeed we did. Every rock has about 20-30 little crabs hidden underneath it. We showed this to about 15 kids their at the beach and many of them were astonished and were so excited. Our kids brought home 3 crabs.

STAR FISH!!

While we went up to Mt. Constitution, Dan stayed down near the shores to find Geo Duck, star fish and clams. He was on call and had to have internet access at all time and his AT&T card wouldn't make it up Mt.Constitution.
This is the bay where Dan found star fish, clams, geoducks, and crabs.
We found about 10. Dan saw about 30

Idylwood beach. This is 10 minutes from our house. The Zoo

Reena and her friend Destiney were actually scared of the dinosaurs at first because they were spitting out water. I kept trying to assure them it wasn't acid, but they didn't want to believe and I had to actually held their hands 'til they cross.
I can't believe how tanned my kids got after a Seattle summer, especially Reena. I can see their definite swimming suit tanned line when I give them a bath. Every day out in the sun at the beach and park will do that. It also bleaches their hair. I've gotten so many people asking if I dye Debrie's hair. No.

My Kindergartener
She was so ready and excited to meet friends and her teacher. She was talking to the kids in line with her. Seriously we don't know what happened to her shyness, but it's completely gone. She's a social butterfly!

Besides all these things we also took Mike to eat frozen yogurt, to Matt and Shelly's place for cake and ice cream for Matt's birthday, we swam in the pool about twice a week, and he and I went to visit the homeless on Wednesday and he was my assistant in Tootle Tots. He and Dan had many game nights together and we played many games of Settlers. He was with us for the whole summer and just left. We will miss him. Mostly the kids will. They've really enjoyed having their uncles here. Brie and Reena still asks about uncle Lon and when they can see him again. Brie woke up this morning saying she wants uncle Mike to take her to the park. Thankfully we have a lot of cousins here and the kids love to see their cousins...and that is where we're heading for a bbq and Settlers!!!!!
