I can hardly believe
school is starting soon. This is my attempt to catch up before Fall
catches up to us. Summer is never long enough and we packed in a lot
of fun for the kids but also blocked our mornings so they just chill
out and not feel rushed. I've been a bit of a slacker and not
focusing on my Finance class, but financial counseling is still the
goal and I know with hard work, consistency, and determination, I'll
get it. I've been going to the training meetings after Dan gets home
from work about twice a week. It's just a whole other world for this
psychology brain. My parents have very successful children, all my
sisters making loads of money and building a sweet resume. I want
the full credit for raising my children but at the same time keeping
my mind sharp is important to me. Crafts and music just aren't
enough. It'll be nice to be able to afford an estate lot when I'm in
my 40's. That's my motivation :)
My hobbies are my
children though. I love spending time with these kiddos. When we
got back from the extended family reunion, Reena and I got to work on
her birthday party. She wanted rollerblades for her birthday and she
knows a lot of her friends have them so a ROLLERBLADING BIRTHDAY
Party it was. She got super excited about making the cute crafts,
cutting, glueing, making the cute invitations and handing them out to
her friends.
We weren't able to
have the party on her birthday so I asked her what she wanted to do
on her birthday and she said “I want to go crabbing!” She's my
kind of girl! She did get her favorite pancakes and eggs breakfast
though. I love this girl of mine and I'm really in denial that she
is as old as she is. 9 years old. She's so tall we could share some
clothes now. She's also my bling girl. We love collecting jewelries
and wearing them!
Bling
bling! A collection of Justice, Charming Charlie, Paparazzi, H&M,
Stella and dots, and other liquidation sales. I'm vain but I love it. I
do sell a lot of it so I could afford new ones:)![]() |

A cute friend of
mine (half Viet half white also) from college texted me and said
she'll be in town and wants to get together. Since we were in
Seattle we got together and hung out at Golden Garden Beach where we
set the traps for the crabs. We went out to eat for Reena's birthday
afterward with her and her husband.
They are such a cute couple. She's half Vietnamese and half white. He is half Tawainese half white also I believe.
The Party
The party started
off at our house with roasted s'mores in the firepit, a couple of
practice rounds of rollerblading inside our house (so glad we got the
engineered wood for this reason), then some rollerblading outside to
the park in front of our house. Reena practically implemented my
ideas for her party. She did the cake even. I helped her but she
was the one to roll out the marshmallow fondant I made and she rolled
the balls and decorated them. She cut and glued and helped make the
pinata, the cute labels on the water bottles, she glued them on,
helped me cut them out and such. I did the main prep work, she
implemented.

And holy cow I can see myself growing.
Roro had his first
dental visit this month. No cavities! Yay!! He was so good, sat
there for a cleaning and flossing. He loves flossing, unlike his
sisters. Dan loves the set up we have. The girls were definitely
more difficult with this area of bed routine, but they are pretty
good now that we have Dan read to the girls Harry Potter if they do
everything in a timely manner.
Dan's really
enjoying the little things he gets to do with his boy. They love
going down to the park and play ball. He loves playing the guitar
with his daddy too.
One thing about
Ronin, he loves the water, and will get all naked to play in the
water. He likes to be diaper free as well so potty training him has
been great.
And he loves his
choo choo. He builds most of the tracks by himself but will ask
“help me, please help boo” when he has a hard time making a track
work and is very polite when you help him, always with a “thank
you” that will melt your heart. He melts me. I love him.
The Amazon Summer Family Party
Tons of free food,
games, t-shirts, and bouncy houses. They know how to throw a party!
We love Summer for
one big reason, meeting up with daddy for picnic/lunch
We squeezed in a
picnic, trip to the Kelsey Creek petting zoo, and blueberry picking
all in one day. We decided to try a new blue berry picking farm,
this one is smack in the outskirt of the city of Bellevue. The
berries were not as big as our usual favorite spot, Mt. Si but a
pretty good price. $1.50/lb. Pretty good for blueberries. We also
got quite a few from our own yard as well.
We got tons of
s'mores stuff left over from Reena's party so we had another round of
s'mores with the neighborhood kids. I love starting up a fire the
old fashion way I used to do in Vietnam. I used a lot of the dried
up plants in the yard after their harvest and Dan's left over cedar
pieces from projects. Nice way to burn off the left over pieces of
wood. We even made a yummy salmon dinner with it.
Our ward had an
annual ward camp out and this year we were in town for that. Always
fun to get the tent out and this time I bought everyone air
mattresses and let me tell you we had the best sleep we've ever had
camping. So much nicer than a mat or just sleeping bags
I had to cut the
trip a little short and ran off to do a photography session for a
family but the campsite was only an hour away so I was able to join
the family for some slip n slide and canoeing fun afterward.
Thanks for stopping
by and see you on the next blog!
