Lake Sammamish Beach Park

We had so much fun at Pine Lake that we decided to try out another lake. It was Lake Sammamish State Park, which is 10 minutes away from our house. Don't know how we missed it last year. It's a beach park and the kids had so much fun and we did too. I think we had too much fun in fact. We stayed out there for a couple of hours enjoying the sun and eating Papa John's pizzas. The ducks enjoyed our pizzas as well. The best part of course was having daddy work from home so we could be with him. Unlike Reena, Brie wasn't a big fan of the sand, though I think it might've been because she missed her nap and was cranky. She picked up a runny nose from somewhere, probably from the gym and dance class and being out on the beach for several hours didn't help. This is where too much good is bad. LOL. Well, we had fun though and isn't the view amazing?!

Bosch or Kitchen Aid

Ah hem, my birthday is coming in a week and a half and I'm trying to decide on what I want to get. I would like to see what some of you think is the better purchase. I know my sister in law Krista would choose a Bosch over a kitchen aid any day but I love the look of the kitchen aid, especially the red one. It will make my new kitchen absolutely stunning. The Bosch is also twice as expensive and my hubby just spent over $400 on his tools, that's not to mention the cost of his saw and wood! (Jeff, when Dan calls, just tell him "No you don't need that") Also, I think I would rather buy the fun attachment pieces to make like fresh pasta! But send me your votes though. I want to hear what you guys think. Thanks!

"P" Day

Preschool Picnic Park Playground. All brought to you by the letter "P". Today I Picked to focus on the letter "P" for Preschool. Playgroup was moved to today because it's a beautiful day so rather than holding preschool at my house, we held it at Pine Lake Park. It was all too Perfect since we could have a Pinic at the Park and the theme could be "Party" with Popcorn, Pasta, Peanuts and all too fun Playground. The kids also went out to the Pier and Painted on Paper Plates. Now was this a clever idea of mine or what?

Friends, Food, and Wedding

Ok it is 10:00 PM on Sunday and I have 1 hour to catch us up on the last two weeks. I hope I can in 1 hour. Dan can sit down and within 10 minutes post an awesome long blog about the weather (like below) but I will often get distracted by pretty much everything around me. OK FOCUS. Key of LIFE.

What a wonderful 2 weeks we've just had. It's been extremely busy around here. We finalized the architectural layout of our house, I helped plan a wedding, made food for it, did a little wedding photography, and started opera lessons. A little girl at church told her mom to tell me after i performed a solo in church last week that I'm the prettiest singer she's ever seen and wanted to grow up to be like me. That's all I needed to hear and then I was on a roll. Our counselor in the bishopric often asks me if there's anything I don't do and I guess the answer is, if it's artistic, I'm there. Counseling is an art!

Dan had a visit from a friend and coworker. He convinced one of his old friends/coworker from Wahoo, the studio he previously worked at to apply to Amazon and he did. He was flown up for an interview so Dan took him out to eat and showed him Seattle. He also brought him home for dinner and we hope he'll get the job. Mostly so Dan can have his friend here but also because we'll get $1000 if he gets hired. Fingers crossed.

Brie is growing beautifully and is bigger and taller everyday. She is still way above average for height and slowing down on the weight but still above average because she was born big. She is now pushing herself to standing position and will stand there for about 10 seconds. She'll be walking before her birthday is my guess.
Brie just got her 4th tooth in this week. Finally she's gonna start being a little bit more symmetrical. She's been asymmetrical the last several weeks. Like this!

Reena made $70 this week selling her hairclips to the moms at the gym and her dance class without much sweat. She was wearing one of the hairclips I had made for her back in October and one of the moms thought that it was so cute so she asked me if I could make 10 of them for her daughter who was having a birthday this week. I love it when people are rich and they start handing out money. Story short, Reena and I have made this many!
She also attended 2 birthday parties and gave out a lot of hairclips for her friends, both were girls. Perfect!

Her highlight this week was washing the car with dad! Don't you love kids and what they get excited about?!

We're excited Uncle Dave's family and Dave and his family will be joining us in this beautiful coastal city. Yay for more family. I married into the best family. No doubt. Wish more people could be here with us so we can all go boating! On this! No need to drive far! Just hop on.

Seattle is so much fun and we love it. Spring is here and the colors are stunning! It's always green here but now it's greener. We love the green. My favorite color! Go GREEN!

Our land searching continues. Will update ya'll when we are satisfied or given up. We're hoping for a view.

Weather by Committee

This is also too funny not to post. Have we emphasized enough yet that weather.com is wonky?

We realize that it is very difficult to forecast the weather. However, we kind of expect the weather forecast to be internally consistent. Perhaps we don't understand how weather forecasting works, but this sure looks like it was done by a committee with no communication.

According to Weather.com our weather today is going to be rainy. You'll notice, a 30% chance of rain. While that isn't all that high (especially for here), they make it look like it's going to be cloudy and rainy.

However, it is currently raining only sunshine and has been all morning long. So let's look at the hour by hour forecast to find out when all this rain is expected.

Wait, what? We don't see any time it's going to rain before 6pm. Perhaps it's going to rain this evening then. Let's take a look.

OK, now we're just confused. Perhaps one of you can explain this phenomenon to us. For now, we're going with the hour by hour forecast, as that is what the weather outside agrees with more.
