How significant are you?

In the stress of searching for the perfect camera we got distracted and started looking at a lazy susan for our square table and that led to furniture shopping and locations for stores and that led to looking at the map of the US and then this!
Enjoy.

The Best Camera

So if you're following our blog you know we've been saving up for a camera. A wise man, Chase Jarvis once said in his book "The best camera is the one that's with you" Recently my best camera (6 years) sorta gave up on us and is not very dependable anymore so all those pictures on my last several blog entries were taken with my phone. I love it because it's always with me but I want something with a little bit more quality. I need some opinions. I know some of you have nice cameras. Can you give me a rating of yours? I'm looking for things like megapixels, sensor sizes, and your own reviews of it. I want a DSLR but I don't want to spend more than $1000. Your comment would be greatly appreciated. Enter your comment here or e-mail it to me. Thanks.

Living to Love. Loving to Serve

THE CUTENESS CORNER

FALL FOR WASHINGTON

First of all, is it really almost half way through OCTOBER already???
Conference suggested that it is to us. We watched conference in the comfort of our home through the internet on the Mac. It was a wonderful weekend with sunshine and somewhat warm weather. The low 60's is a bit cold for me but Dan loves it. Saturday morning I made us an unhealthy breakfast with sausages and blueberries amazing pancake borrowed from Tiffany Applegate, Dan's sister's Amazing Apple Pancakes recipe. It was delicious!! Sunday Dan made us breakfast this time with fried eggs and once again Tiffany's delicious pan cake recipe. Yes we had an overloadedness of cholesterol that weekend.

The theme for conference this round seems to be about LOVE and SERVICE. On the way home from the House of Hope I saw this sign outside of a newly built church: Living to Love. Loving to Serve. I felt somewhat impressed to write a little bit about this as the theme for conference seemed similar to it. I've been working with the women at the House of Hope, a shelter for women and children and volunteering some of my time to reconnect the homeless with their families. It's been a great opportunity for me to truly see how important service is to the lives of those less fortunate than us. A homeless man told me "Don't tell me you know. You don't know how it's like to be sitting out here in the cold and not have a place to go." I couldn't say anything back. It's true, I really don't know. My parents practically gave me a house and spoiled me rotten but what I don't want is to be rotten. I want to give and to care. I have since give clothes and food and I'm planning on organizing a non profit organization to help feed the homeless.

THE CHILLING CORNER
That's right folks! For you desert people the weather is now nice enough to play outside and not get burnt. For us, we've had it all spring and summer long and now we're going into hibernation or vacation. Going to plays, watching movies (which btw Reena has been taking a great interest in Star Wars and quoting it now), shopping and eating. The holidays are here and we can't wait to see families. We're heading to Arizona baby!

CREATIVE CORNER - REEENA

Reena, I love her. I need to write this down to remind me that I do love her. But she does not know what hurts. Let just say I'm surprised my miracle and angel baby Debrie is still alive. Reena jumps on her, pick her up by the neck, roll her over by the leg and toss her around when I'm not looking. It seems nowadays that painting is the only thing that calms Reena down a bit. Movies don't do it anymore. It seems that after all, the greatest work a mother can do is TO KEEP ALL HER CHILDREN ALIVE!!

2 kids!!!

What I've learned about having 2 kids!!!
1. Lists - Make a list or you WILL feel like you haven't accomplished a thing the whole day.
2. You better start developing more arms and legs - or at least monkey toes like my husband said I have. Learn to type fast with 1 hand if you want to blog.
3. When one kid gets sick the other one gets sick too. (We dropped the kids off at their friends' house so we can go to the Temple and they forgot to tell us their kids are sick so Reena got sick and Debrie followed)
4. Going on drives are fun now. Time out for mommy! (We love to have daddy stay later and give him a ride in to Seattle. We pass 3 bodies of water and 2 tunnels and it has the ability to calm everyone down).
5. Lunches are short and fatty. (We've had a lot of corn dogs and nuggets and cheese crisps with sour cream around here. Somehow my body manages to be 103 lbs. Probably the lack of time to eat)
6. The house all of a sudden seems smaller even though the new born baby doesn't take up a lot of space. Cause: Toys don't get picked up like they used to. (My house here is bigger than in Utah but toys don't get picked up here and it feels more cramped. Reena is getting a little better at this, but I still need my sisters back!!)
