October Ronin's Ball Party

One week before his birthday Ronin decided to take off walking, or should I say running?  He had been taking 1-3 steps for a few weeks and we thought for sure any day now.  Then one night before bed he decided it was time.  And he just took off running from Dan to me back to Dan back to me.  He was so excited he just runs.  We got his pictures taken and then a birthday was planned.  He loves to play balls.  His dad came home with some balls for him one day and he was in heaven.  It was easy to decide what party he would get.  He also loves cars and we almost did a Cars theme but decided a ball theme would be more fun and less to prepare.  Needless to say, he had a BALL blast on his birthday!!

I decided to go real simple on the cake so the girls can help be a part of it.  They had fun cutting out the circles and placing them on the cake as well as rolling the balls.  Pretty much all I did was baked and frosted the cake and made the sign

With a little search on pinterest for ideas I decided to make him a progress board that looks like a scoreboard chalk style.  I actually used a white crayon rather than chalk so it would last longer and added a few of my own ideas and arts so it would be more original

Everything round like a ball
Dan was put to work making the number one.  Also a pinterest idea.  Seriously with pinterest, anyone can be creative, even my husband! :)
Reena and Debrie wanted to decorate his chair.  I thought they did a great job

I love his little outfit.

I printed out over 100 pictures of Ro to pass around the room for everyone to awww and ooohs over his baby pictures.

I made a birthday hat and quickly got a picture of him in it.  He didn't like the string

I love these milk jugs.  They are so decorative and the best part about them is they will last forever and will be very useful at the dinner table

It's bubble time!!  Bubbles and balls.  How much more does a kid this age want?  I bought a little inflatable pool and 100 balls to make a ball pit.  All the kids loved it, even Reena and Ellie
Cousins and friends came to celebrate with Ro
Because I focused on the cake more than the decoration for the cake, I had more time to add natural ingredients into the cake that made it super moist.  It was the first time ever that we finished off a whole cake.  The size was perfect

After the party I took him to the ball park in front of our house to play with his balloon and ball.  He had a ball!!!

Happy 1st birthday to our big boy.  We adore him so much.  We've had such a wonderful year with him and love making memories with him.  I love taking pictures of him and seeing him grow up. Here's to many more wonderful years.
