I'm playing catch up, hopefully I can get caught up soon. March found us very happy to be home. Familiar home cooking was the answer to my nausea. It's miserable when you are in a new place and can't try a lot of the food, especially if you're me and love food. But the eating out everyday made me put on the lbs faster than if I were to eat at home. Yikes!! 8lbs in 2 months. I enjoyed being 100 lbs and being able to run 13 miles at a time, but the joy this baby brings makes up for it. Thankfully it's slowed down now and going at a more normal rate.
Scones!! These were one of my favorite things to eat when we were in the UK. I made a whole huge batch for the sister missionaries when we had them over for dinner. So YUM!!
Good to be home and snuggling with my children again in their beds.
March Madness
We got into March Madness like everyone else, well I did anyway. Dan was too busy to follow so he didn't do a bracket. We participated with the Stevens family one and that one I got SECOND place (My third time being in second place always after one of Lon's kids. He must be doing something right). We also did our ward one and we came in THIRD. Dan and the kids got into a Star Wars March Madness. The kids enjoyed that so much more than they would have with basketball.
Chuck 'e Cheese
Since we went to Europe and our kids didn't get to go any where during the winter break, we asked them where they want to go for fun and they told us "CHUCK 'E CHEESE. Well that was a nice and cheaper option than we thought it would be. So, we called up our friends the Hurds and we all went to Chuck e Cheese. Their daughter is our kids best friends so they had a great time. We ate pizzas there and played until we ran out of tokens, which was about 2 1/2 hours. Even Dan and Gene got really into one of the games.
We played so hard and for so long at Chuck E Cheese, we were knocked out the next day. Everyone got the sniffles for a week!! I came home from taking a non member lady to a baptism to finding this big pile of love. So sweet!
Easter
March was very interesting in terms of weather. The last hurrah was in and then it was 70 degrees weather after that. Spring came and it snowed about an inch. The kids loved it but I had to hold off on planting. We got some more yard work done. We added more blocks onto the rock wall. Dan did most of the lifting work, I did some shoveling and moving rocks. The soil here is better than it was in Spanish Fork, but there are so many rocks!! We're trying to decide what to do with all the rocks and right now the decision is making a pond and putting some Koi in there. That's probably going to be next year's project though. We got the yard to look mostly presentable before the Easter egg hunt for my preschool kids. We had another Easter Egg hunt with the cousins when they came over. The kids had a total of 3 Easter egg hunts and many egg dye activities.
It didn't really snow all winter long, then March 20th came and it snowed its last little bit of coldness and then a few days later... we were at the beach.
Easter Egg dye. My preschool kids. Mess free method!!
The backyard egg hunt
Playing in the sunshine after an Easter egg hunt. We were twinnies.
The Dinner!! Only Matt and Shelly's family came. Dave and Kim's family were sick.
A tiny bump started showing up. I'm wearing my swimming suit underneath so that shows more than it should but this baby fat is protruding. It's been 4 years since I was last pregnant so we are loving every moment of it. I guess there is benefit in waiting that long between each kid. You actually can enjoy pregnancy!!!
Reena Reena finished up her soccer training in March. She did very well and learned a lot but she was also very glad it was over. It was a long 5 month course. She is enjoying her time in dance class and will complete a year of ballet and tap and will have a dance performance at the end of June. She has also gotten into video filming a lot. She would always ask for Dan's phone or my phone to make movies. Some are very cute. Her new thing is horses. She loves reading about them and wants to take horse back riding lessons this summer. Speaking of reading, she started really picking up on reading and got into chapter book reading in March. We are very excited to introduce her to some books we love.
After Reena finished up soccer, Dan picked up indoor soccer with a team of guys in our ward. Looks like soccer will be our sports here for a while.
Got into crocheting again. Made a few hats to give out as gifts and a few more hair clips to attach to the beanies. Debrie
Debrie continues to be our little clown. She has the cutest little voice and silly little laughs. She was happy to be cuddling up again with me at bed time. She missed us so much while we were gone that she started coming into our room at night to sleep with us. When I asked her why she kept coming in, she said she wants to sleep with the baby. She also said that Nama and Ba Ngoai cuddled with her and she slept with Nama and Ba Ngoai when she wakes in the middle of night. She's doing a lot of growing up and is very excited to be a big sister. I've been watching a little boy for a friend who has to work and the little boy is a year older than her. Watching them play has been fun to see, mostly observing how clear Debrie's diction and thinking matures over the last few years. I think we've been really spoiled having such a long break between Debrie and this one, even though it doesn't seem that long because of the building of the house and moves we've had the last several years.
While traveling in Europe I learned a new camera mode on my phone that takes awesome pictures. Many of these March's pictures were taken with my phone. Can you tell which ones?
