July part II

I'm very behind on my blog and Dan is very behind in his newsletters.  We have excuses of course for why we are so late.  I like to put it as, we are busy making memories.    I also hate writing.  I believe my Masters Thesis did this to me.  After writing my thesis I have become so lazy proof-reading anything I write.  Please don't look for professionalism here.  I am merely just writing what is on my mind in my blog and I don't proof read so I apologize for the grammar and mipseling, etc.. :)
I'm taking another class right now.  Real Estate was very fun to learn about but it is on hold right now because I can't convince my parents to quit their jobs and be babysitters for me.  They said in 2 years they'll move out to Seattle.  We'll see I guess.  The class I'm currently taking is a financial advising class which I could be certified to work as a financial adviser if I wish at the end of the class.  I would be educating people about investments and insurance.  My friends think I'm a jack of all trades but I sort of have to be if it is counseling I want to get into.  Counseling requires you to be well rounded and there is no better way to do this than to educate yourself

July the weather was as beautiful as ever.  We spent everyday outdoors and it was great.  We helped our friend Tim Strobell out by letting him stay with us 10 days while he and his family were going through the moving transition. They moved their stuff out of their rental home and then went to Utah and Tim came back for work while the family stayed and hung out with family in Utah. They were downsizing because their landlord raised the rental price of their 2600 sq ft rental home from $2800 a month to $3100 a month.  It's crazy to think that we could literally rent out our house and make money.  We've given thoughts.  Our house would go for about $3500.  Homes here are still ridiculously priced.

Tim's main complaint about Seattle is that he's been working so much and not taking the time to explore the beauty of this area.  We told him he's in the right place.  We love exploring this area because there is so much to do.  We have yet to explore the mountains in the winter time.  Skiing resorts are half an hour from our house and yet we still haven't gone.  That is on our bucket list.  We took him to the beach instead and we took him raspberry picking and we made some syrup for cheesecakes and pancakes.

What makes this child happy?  Snacks.  He is a little snacker all day

Where the Strobells live there is a nice hot tub and pool.  Our favorite thing to do with them any Saturday is to go for a swim.  Ronin loves the water now.
Brie is my natural florist.  I plant flowers in the garden just for her.  On her own she picked mints and arranged them inside this vase of hydrangea from the garden.
Ronin loves the Harry Potter closet.  You will most likely find him playing inside it.

I'm still amazed at how beautiful this place is that we are so blessed to live in.  Nature walks are just a few yards away.  I usually have my phone handy to take pictures.  This one is a field of daisies
Reena got really good with making balloon animals from her littlest pet shop birthday party

Tim took us out to eat

I was booked for a birthday party!  Yes it was awesome.  I made $65 an hour and it was so easy.  A mom from my playgroup came to check out my singing time and she liked my voice and asked if I could do the same thing at her son's birthday party.  She asked me how much I charge and I just told her the price I made with preschool and went with that.  It was a nice little bonus and something I hope to have more in the future.  While I was working Dan and the kids and Tim went on a cool nature walk.  They found some neat stuff.  The Northwest never ceases to show me its beauty.

We had a few items on the checklist to take Tim around and one of them was of course Alki beach.  We rented a surrey bike and rode around along the pier.  It was great!  Summer in Seattle is hard to beat.

We decided to take up crabbing since we witnessed so many people having success with crabbing around here.  We could not believe how unbelievably easy it was.  You cast your net from any pier along the beach, which is about half an hour from our house and within 10 minutes you can pull up several crabs.  Now if you pull up a female crab you do have to put them back or if you pull up a crab smaller than 5 inches you also have to put them back.  We had success within our first 10 minutes and pulled up an 8 inch.  It was exciting! You could imagine the girls and their excitement.

 Ronin liked the crabs :)
My tummy liked the crabs :)
And that's the second part of July for us!!!
