October Part 3

October was still beautiful for pictures. I had a few more opportunities to take some pictures for some families. I spent some time updating my blogs. I'm now an author for 4 different blogs. I better stop there or else I will get too busy.
You can view my photography blog here: http://seastevensphotography.blogspot.com
I volunteered to keep everyone up to date on my brother and his mission by creating his mission blog for him and I take the time to translate them from English to Vietnamese for my parents and families in Vietnam to read them. I feel like this will help share the gospel in a more private setting since Vietnam does not allow you to proselyte. http://eldernguyensmissionblog.blogspot.com
And of course our personal website which is private and is just for families and close friends, with the exception of one month out of the year, Christmas time where we make it readable for a bigger group of friends. http://dtstevensnewsletter.blogspot.com

During all this time of scheduling my sessions with people, a friend of mine just bought a $4000 camera and wanted to test it out for her new portfolio. She having known me for a while asked if I could be her model for the Maternity portfolio. I accepted and we got a few pictures to share from that session.

When we got back in town after our 2 weeks vacation back East, I quickly got to work buying fabric and making our Halloween costumes. The kids wanted to be characters from Harry Potter because they've been reading with their daddy almost all of the Harry Potter books. I couldn't be more proud. Reena dressed as Hermoine Granger. Debrie dressed as Ginny Weasley. Ronin was our little Harry Potter. Dan was a Quidditch player and I'm his Golden Snitch. You have to be Harry Potter fans to get the Quidditch player and Golden Snitch theme, but it got raving reviews as the most clever of costumes on Facebook. Made me so happy
I had the idea of going on a walk near our home to collect sticks and twigs to make a broomstick. We found a big stick within 2 minutes of our walk and got many twigs. Dan spent some time while I taught music at the community Playgroup to make the broomstick. Turned out great I thought. He also made the girls some wands. We just Ro one that lights up. Thought he'd be less likely to poke himself or others with a fatter one.
I put Dan to work on the scar.  He used my eyeliner.  A bit too dark but gosh this boy is so cute.  He wouldn't keep the glasses on though

With our matching costumes we headed to many different parties. Many had my craving...apple cider. I do believe that's where Darion packed in the pounds. More on this later.
Reena and Debrie with their teachers at their school's Halloween party
Debrie and her friend Mina from school

Dan doesn't care for the fact that his birthday is on Halloween, but for me it is the highlight. I made him a triffle cake that he often requests for his birthday. Peanut butter chocolate with reeses' cups

Also joining us for his celebration was the Astles clan. I took their pictures so they came to get the images loaded up into their USB drive. Always so fun to have families come for a visit on your birthday, especially on a day that rained like cats and dogs. It was our first Halloween where it rained so much. That didn't damper the kids's spirits at all, just us wimpy adults. It did let up a bit while they went trick or treating but they were very glad that the Gryffindor cloaks have hoods and their scarves kept them warm also.

Ronin was very good at giving out candies.  I would say besides getting candies, giving them out was his favorite part.

After the trick or treating and giving out candies, we headed to a friend's house for more Halloween treats and goodies. More food and a movie for the kids. It is a very bad thing to still be pregnant around Halloween. The Fall is just not a good time to be pregnant. All the yummy fresh squeezed Cider, all the caramel apples and chocolate candies and sweet treats. I just couldn't resist.
I calculated that by the end of my pregnancy I would be putting on a total of 30-35 lbs. I was able to keep it at just that by the way for the record. Darion decided he'd take some extra few pounds for me so I wouldn't have to work it off on my own. Bless his heart.  I should've induced him weeks earlier but can't complain that he decided to come out so fast and easy (more on this later).  Thank you baby

Reena carved the werewolf (also going with the Harry Potter theme) all by herself
Brie decided on an owl (also Harry Potter) and had some help
